Microsoft releases free antivirus ‘Morro’ a.k.a. Microsoft Security Essentials
. The new free antivirus software from Microsoft, codenamed as “Morro” is actually called ‘Microsoft Security Essentials’ which Microsoft released yesterday and is now available for download as Beta.
Microsoft Security Essentials is designed to occupy less space and supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and the forthcoming Windows 7 operating system. The new Microsoft free antivirus gives full protection from Viruses, Spyware, Rootkits, and Trojans, similar to other paid enterprises antivirus software. It is a big blow for those antivirus companies whose earn their yearly income of billions of dollars from their paid security software.

Microsoft’s new offering will be good for consumers and good for the security market overall because it will raise awareness that security products are necessary. He expects that companies like AVG, Kaspersky, and Symantec will be able to provide more extensive protection than Microsoft is offering.

“Internet Explorer Loses Top Spot in Europe For The First Time”
We know that Firefox is growing fast in the browser market but for the first time it overtook the number one browser Internet Explorer in the Europe. The firm StatCounter Global Stats reports that in the month of December, Firefox took 38.11% of European market share, compared to IE’s 37.52%. And Google Chrome in third place is gaining market share in Europe and has grown to 14.58% compared to 5.06% in December 2009.
This is the first time IE is loosing its number one position, the reason for loosing share is because Google Chrome is stealing IE share while Firefox is maintaining its existing position.

HTC EVO Shift For Sprint First Of Many 4G Devices At CES
The tidal wave of 4G phones at CES is just beginning with this morning's launch of the HTC EVO Shift 4G from Sprint. The follow-up to last year's popular HTC EVO 4G, the first 4G phone on Sprint's WiMAX network, sports a full QWERTY keyboard, runs Android 2.2 and supports HD video capture.
HTC EVO Shift 4G will be available on January 9 for $150 from Sprint as well as from all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and online at www.bestbuy.com/mobile. Best Buy Rewards Zone members can purchase their device on January 6.
The EVO Shift 4G doesn't have the large 4.3-inch display like its brother. Instead, it has a 3.6-inch display, which might seem like a downgrade to some. In my opinion, it actually makes a lot more sense however, given the extra bulk needed for the keyboard. The phone would simply be too large to accommodate for both. A real downgrade, however, is the lack of a front-facing camera. In my opinion, that was one of the biggest draws of the original EVO 4G.
The EVO Shift 4G is powered by an 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. This seems a bit slow when compared with the upcoming dual core-powered phones we'll see at the show (LG's Optimus 2x, for example). The processor is the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon, however, and in other phones we've tested. And hopefully, the EVO Shift 4G will be updated to Android 2.3 sooner rather than later, which should undoubtedly improve its performance overall. Like other Sprint 4G phones, the Shift 4G comes with Sprint's Mobile Hotspot, which lets you connect up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices.
The EVO Shift 4G is just the first of many 4G devices we'll see at CES this year. Verizon is expected to launch a slew of LTE phones from a variety of manufacturers (LG, Motorola, and HTC) at their press conference Thursday. BuiltWith – Check website analysis and SEO information with Online Tool
Webmasters and bloggers all over want to know more about their competition. This usually means looking up other websites. Getting too obsessed with the competition can actually be harmful, but a little bit of analysis and understanding is a good way to learn from your competition. BuiltWith is a website which allowed me to look up a lot of useful information on just about any website. BuiltWith Features
Just type in the name of the URL of the website you want information about. Once that is done a report is generated.
I could look up the website’s technology profile. Information like which servers are used and which platform, the site was hosted on including the version of the platform. It also gave information regarding which analysis tools (eg: Google Analytics) and advertising services (eg: AdSense, Ad Words and infolinks) were used.
Also it look up information on the Widgets and social media features which are present on the website.
When it comes to SEO related information, I got to look up decent information regarding keyword frequency and top 10 keywords being used. To view SEO related information you have to register free to access the data.
As I continued using BuiltWith, I found it quite useful to learn about various other platforms and things common to websites using those platforms like Blogger.com or WordPress. I do not think it will be helpful to analyse your own website. Use this one to do a bit of spying on your competitors.
